No. No. [A clang here, because Parker has thrown the communicator where it bounced against her bed, giving a sideways view of Parker in a now too tight (and torn) suit. When she speaks, it's in an angry, smarmy tone.]

No. No. You have got to be fucking kidding me. After the fucking fear gas, now this. No. Fuck. Anyone but him.

[Parker screams for pretty much the entire sixth level to hear, and then she kicks her bed and is rewarded with a further tearing sound in her suit before she looks and realizes that the communicator is still on.]

God damn it!

[She stalked over to it and looked into it for a second.]

Don't give me that. Legacies are bullshit when they force your kids to scrub people out like they've never existed...when they consist of experimenting on kids your own daughter's age. He cared more about some bullshit legacy than the impact it was having on you, for chrissakes.

Maybe that's the best way he knew how, but there's no way he didn't also know that he was screwing you up in the process, or that he was dragging you back in long after you needed to be there. He screwed you over royally, and you're still blaming all your problems on a guy who'd been experimented on as a child and deserved to be out from under your Centre's thumb for once in his damn life. [When Denise took a step forward, Parker took a step back. It was an unlikely thing to do for Parker, and she was quite certain that Denise would know that. She was going to do some incredible violence to her warden if she didn't back the fuck off. She took a deep breath.]

My mother died trying to save Jarod! Trying to save me. That's why it's his fault. If she hadn't tried, Mama would have taken me away from there!

[What's the word she's looking for, what is it...OH THERE IT IS. It's not a word she ever uses.]

Noble. She had a shitload of sympathy, and your father should've had it too. She died doing the right thing. She did the right thing trying to save him, and she failed and died. That sucks, it's tragic, it shouldn't have happened. But she didn't give up and let them fuck with an innocent kid's head because she figured it was hopeless. You think your mom would want you to blame Jarod after what she went through to save him? Do ya? 'Cause I seriously doubt it. It's like saying she sacrificed herself for nothing, and that's pretty damn insulting to her memory.

[Another step forward. She hasn't missed Parker regressing to calling her mother "Mama," and if Denise needs to bully and crack her to make her acknowledge the point about her mother and Jarod, so be it. It's the only way she knows.]

She died trying to get Jarod and you out, and that's more loving than anything your father ever did for you.

The frost queen exterior had formed over Jarod's normally warn brown eyes, and she crossed her arms in front of her chest quickly. There was only one person she allowed to talk about her mother, and he was most definitely not here at the moment. Well, he was but he wasn't.]
