You know, I think if it had been any of us that have pulled this shit Narvin did, our asses would have been demoted. What do you think?

[Private to Prefect]
You have the right idea. This is bullshit.

[Private to Paddy.]
Let's go shoot shit.

...Well, now we can't if we pull that shit. Precedent and all that shit. I might not be Mr Fucking Genius over here, but if there's anything I do know, it's how to dodge doing time.

There's a reason I just don't get involved in this shit, Parker.

I'm kinda busy today. Tomorrow afternoon?

It isn't, no. I ain't disagreeing with it for a second, but... I dunno. There ain't such a thing as justice, just politics.

And I ain't sticking my hands into that mess.

Working on it. Went to talk to her. She accepted my apology, but only gave me ten fucking minutes. I'm gonna bug her again, see if we can talk again tomorrow or today. I'm... slowly getting there, but it ain't an easy thing to fix.

I fucked up royally, Parker.

He's just another Time Lord tosser, by my count.

Hey, we've got something to point to and go 'well, this is your standard of punishment, right?' - but I reckon it's all politics and nowt else. Blokes like Howie and all the by-the-books crew would want to punish you as much as possible for fucking up, right? But you can only really be punished as much as you consent to being punished. If you kick up a fuss, they can't exactly force a punishment on you. I

...Really? Fuck. I'm gonna go talk to her again.

She ain't in a good place, love. All my fault, too.

...I was hoping she was talking to you.

Well. I'm gonna have to insist on seeing her today, ain't I? I'll keep trying, and hopefully it'll get better every time.

You're tellin me. I'll keep tryin to talk to her. If it keeps gettin worse, I'll have to ask her if she wants to switch. Tactfully.

Don't you worry, I ain't about to let her think I'm quitting. I'll tell her that I'm gonna be there as long as she wants me there, but if she don't feel she can deal with me and wants someone else, I can respect that.

I hope it don't come to it, though.

Me neither.

But if she can't talk to me, I've gotta make the offer, because me keeping pushing it when it ain't going to work isn't handling it right either.

It took me ages to persuade her of that in the first place. It should be... Well, I just did it by sheer perseverance, I have to admit.

Just keep pressing with the sound logic. Keep telling her you don't believe it's her fault. She still ought to respect what you think, when it comes down to it.

Thanks, Parker. I really appreciate it.

It confuses me. What I do not understand, I can have no opinion of.

I'd like to think they would follow the same method of punishment used for all the wardens. A week in level zero for a first offense.

However, rationality tells me you're probably right.

...He should be punished. Possibly more so than is being suggested by Neil Howie. However, I don't know that he is deserving of demotion.

Perhaps it is enough that he has lost the trust of his colleagues.

I completely agree.
