[There was no heat in the threat, at least nothing that was personal if you knew Parker as well as Judas did. She picked up a crystal ashtray off the table and put his cigarette in it, then balanced that on the couch. When he winced, she nodded.]

We need to get those lessons going.

[At the both, Parker nodded.] You don't want him to be able to find you? Or memories? Or both? Cause I gotta tell ya, Judas, this fucking boat is not that big.

[Judas was well aware of that, knew that he would inevitably see the soldier again. The thought of him had the Apostle taking another drink from the bottle and considering those other two Tylenol.]

I need time. I just need a month... I can't... I just need to thicken up first.

Tell Sexby and the Marquis to get him to stay the hell away from you. Didn't they do that after we all got back from the Masterworld?

[Judas nodded quietly.]

But I still snuck into his room to see him. They aren't foolproof in any way.

[He set the bottle down on the floor so he could go back to smoking. He drew in long breaths of smoke before blowing them up at the ceiling but he couldn't help looking down at his left hand again and he absent ring.]

Maybe they can ask the Admiral to bar you entry to each other's rooms. That's what I'd do.

[She nodded quickly, and then dropped down into her chair, reaching over and snubbing her cigarette into the tray next to Judas. Parker noticed the ring, but she didn't say anything for a moment.]

Has Sexby given you permission for this?

[Judas shook his head and finished his cigarette before putting out the butt in the ashtray. He sat quietly before he reached down for the bottle and took a firm swig from it.]

Not yet.

Do you think he will?

[The question was asked quickly, but quietly. If he didn't, then Parker would offer him her room and she'd go bunk with Paddy. Nevermind, that would get rather awkward.]

[Judas admitted just as quietly:] I don't know.

[He pulled his feet up onto her, leaning further back against the couch, shaved head against the top of it.]

But I can't stay in that room.

If you need to, you can couch crash here. I'll... spend most of the night with Paddy.

[She'd be up and out by three.]

What made you cut your hair?

[Judas looked over at Parker at that mention of Paddy. He wanted to ask, but didn't know how to put it.]

He always liked my hair. One of the few things, I guess.

Did you like your hair?

[The question was asked quickly, and Parker fixed him with that even stare of hers while she waited for his response.]

[Judas fiddled with the cap of the vodka bottle as he debated.]

It doesn't matter.

That's not what I asked, judas. Clearly you liked it too, but you cut it off anyway.

[She leaned over and took the bottle of vodka, taking a swig of it without wincing.]

You know, what's important to you is more important than what's important to them.

[Judas watched as she took her own drink from the bottle. He really needed to learn how to do that.]

That mentality will get me nowhere.

Neither will fucking wrecking anything that's connected to that person. It doesn't help anything.

[Parker took another swig of the bottle, and then her eyes moved over to a stained-glass picture of herself where the heart was a missing cut out.]

[Judas furrowed his eyebrows at Parker before he followed her gaze over to to the stained glass. Well. That was interesting. He reached over for the bottle.]

I don't have any need for material possessions. I don't need them.

[She handed him the bottle when he reached for it.]

Hair isn't material possessions, Jude.

[Judas knew that was a good point but didn't acknowledge it as he took a long drink from the vodka bottle, trying not to wince but failing.]

[Parker watched him as he winced.]

Practice. You need to fucking practice. Don't drink so much so fast; I don't want you fucking throwing up on me. I don't do the mommy thing.

[Judas coughed as he brought the bottle away from his lips. He'd taken far too long a drink and the burn was still unexpected to him.]

I won't be ill on you, I know where the bathroom is.

Sometimes when you're drunk it doesn't matter if you know where it is when you're god damn sober.

[Parker got up and headed to the sink that was where her bathroom minus the tub would be. She filled up a glass with water and handed it to him.]

Drink this.

[Judas accepted the glass gratefully as he was beginning to feel the effects of the alcohol on him. He could feel himself warming up already.]

I haven't been sick on anyone yet.

[He took a light sip of the water before going for another stupid swig of the vodka.]

[After he took another sip of the vodka, Parker took the bottle away from him.]

Let it sit for a while. Finish the glass of water and then you can have more. When was the last time you ate anything?

[Judas took a drink of his water, wondering something similar. Maybe dinner the previous night. He hadn't had much of an appetite since his last encounter with Iago.]

This evening.

How much did you eat? Drinking on an empty stomach is a stupid thing to do.

[Parker got up and looked around quickly, finding one of Jarod's stupid donuts and offering it to him.]
